Help with your insurance claim, start to finish
Most AmeriTribe clients are filing their first major insurance claim. AmeriTribe documents the damage with photos and moisture readings, writes estimates in Xactimate, works directly with your adjuster, and explains deductibles, coverage limits and temporary housing before any work starts.

You've never done this before. We have.
Adjusters, deductibles, depreciation, what's covered for mold and asbestos, where you'll sleep while the kitchen is gutted. Nobody explains the process until you are in it. We walk you through each step, in plain language, before you sign anything.
What we do for your claim
- Photograph and document the damage before anything is removed
- Record moisture readings for every wet area
- Write a line-item Xactimate estimate
- Meet your adjuster and answer their questions
- Advise on rebuild choices, like matching continuous flooring, so repairs aren't cut short
How a restoration claim usually goes
Stop the damage. Insurers expect you to prevent further damage. Call us first if water is still coming in.
Open the claim. Call your insurer, get a claim number, and ask about additional living expenses if you can't stay home.
Document. We photograph, measure and record moisture before tear-out.
Adjuster visit. We meet the adjuster and share our documentation.
Estimate and approval. Our Xactimate estimate is reviewed against the adjuster's.
Deposit and work. Work begins after the deposit, usually funded by the insurance check.
Rebuild and close out. We finish the repairs and walk the home with you.
What we won't do
We won't tell you something is covered before your insurer says so, and we won't start work without a written scope and payment terms. Coverage for asbestos and mold in particular varies a lot between policies, and asbestos abatement is often not covered at all. We'll help you find out where you stand first.

Insurance FAQ
Will my insurance cover the damage?
It depends on your policy and on what caused the damage. Sudden and accidental water damage, like a burst pipe, and fire are usually covered perils. Flooding from rising water usually needs a separate flood policy, and coverage for mold and asbestos is often limited or excluded. AmeriTribe will not promise coverage; we help you read your policy and document the loss.
What is Xactimate?
Xactimate is the estimating software most insurance companies use to price repairs. AmeriTribe writes estimates in Xactimate, line by line, so your adjuster can compare them directly with their own.
Does insurance pay for a hotel while my home is repaired?
Many homeowners policies include additional living expenses, sometimes called loss of use, which can cover a hotel or short-term rental when the home isn't livable. Check your policy and keep every receipt. We can help you explain to your adjuster why the home can't be lived in.
When do I pay AmeriTribe?
Work begins after a deposit, which is usually funded by your insurance check. Insurance payments can take four to five weeks to arrive, and we explain the payment schedule in writing before work starts.
What if insurance doesn't cover everything?
Your deductible, work your policy excludes, and upgrades you choose are paid by you. AmeriTribe gives you a written scope first so you know the amount, and you can check financing options through Acorn Finance without affecting your credit score. See how financing works.
Can you talk to my adjuster for me?
Yes. We meet adjusters on site, share our photos, moisture readings and estimate, and answer their questions. You stay in charge of your claim, and we make sure the adjuster has what they need.
